Travelling brought me closer to life!

At the age of 24 today I have moved to-cities, I am sure some of you would relate to my story too. I am fortunate enough, that at an early age, I had the opportunity to travel and learn so much from life. Generally, people travel alone but I travelled along with my family & in that process of learning life, my relationship with my family grew stronger. Thanks to my dad for this! I am sure all Army kids will understand this. No, my dad is certainly not in the Army, but just like the others, I was privileged & experienced to visit some beautiful cities.

Let me tell you, I have lived in 7 cities in the span of 24 years. Not bad, isn't it? I have changed almost 9 schools and lived in 13 houses. I know some people will find it odd but, that was a part of my life & trust me all these things have taught me some important lessons.

We have not only changed cities but, travelled to different states. Born in Maharashtra, I had spent very few years there and later shifted to Gujarat. A child is moulded in his/her early years, I am glad to have spent my early years in Vadodara, Gujarat. I started adapting their language, culture instantly and began to love the city. I learned that caste discrimination scenarios & blah blah existed only in the field of fictitious part of news channels because the love I have received from the people here was something very gripping.

Nasik was the next city I shifted to, yes right from Gujarat to my Maharashtrian soil again. This was the first time I was going to write and speak in Marathi (Despite being a Maharashtrian, I did not know how to write in Marathi). This Peaceful City, Nasik, taught me a big life lesson that some things do take time, time to accept and adapt. Well, honestly it took me few years to fall in love with this place because I had spent my childhood in Gujarat- the hot and happening place. But now, I so miss this city.

Amchi Mumbai! Yes, I have lived and experienced the ‘Bombay emotion’ also. Like every other person who comes here, I have learned to speed up. No matter what happens, you have to move on. I just love the way people handle their lives in Mumbai. It’s so strange not to admire that! Right?

Delhi: The Paragon city of India. ‘Keep fighting till the end’ is what I embraced from this city. Happy-go-lucky people, bindass attitude and ‘Zindagi Mein Kuch Bhi ho Jayekhana khaana aur khilana’ is very important. After my graduation, I lived in two cities, one was the ‘Queen of Deccan’ -  Pune and the other one was ‘The Beautifully Planned’ - Chandigarh. Pune made me realize how important it is to preserve our culture and on the other hand, Chandigarh taught me when you plan things properly you will get beautiful results.

Back then I was angry because of ever changing schools, but, today when I look back, I have a best friend in each of the cities. New friends, new schools, new atmosphere taught me to be more like water, I can adjust in any given circumstances and accept people as they are.
We all have studied, “India is diverse country, there are different cultures, languages, attires, etc.” I have literally lived that statement till now. I’m proud of myself to have travelled at such an early age, I covered chotasa part of India, which gave me so many life lessons & moments to cherish all my life!

Travel, people! Travel. As much as you can but don’t forget to carry that part in your heart always!
